Hi friends!
Ever walked into the kitchen ready to cook… only to get overwhelmed, forget half the ingredients, or somehow set off the smoke alarm? 😅 Because same.
Cooking is already a lot, but with ADHD? It’s next-level chaos. In my latest video, I’m breaking down the most common ADHD cooking struggles, like:
✨ Why “clean as you go” sounds great… but never happens
✨ How forgetting you’re even cooking is very real (RIP, burnt toast)
✨ The struggle of grocery shopping, impulsive buys, and missing the key ingredient
🎥 Watch the video here:
And tell me in the comments—on a scale from “functional home cook” to “set the kitchen on fire,” how chaotic is cooking for you? 😂
Have a lovely day,
Alice, The Mini ADHD Coach 💕
I really struggle with this. Thank goodness I have a partner who is more than happy to do the cooking if I do the meal planning. I have when home alone played “cooking show”. You basically mise en place everything, talk out loud your steps, and tell the audience silly anecdotes. You cannot leave the kitchen, and you clean up while something is in the oven or on the pan. I often say things to my imaginary audience like “I’m just looking for browning right now”. I also make a lot of soups because it’s a lot harder to burn them.
Rule number one (he regularly reminds himself). NEVER walk away from the hobs. Never walk away from the h... Ooh let me just quickly grab the washing basket 🫠
